Basket Press Wines is a London-based wine import and distribution company. Our focus is to source real, living wines from Central and Eastern Europe. We are an independent, family-owned company, with an aim to work and support smaller, unsung growers. Jiří is originally from the Czech Republic and has been part of the UK drinks industry for more than a decade. Zainab's background in food and drinks spans over 15 years -- formerly worked in sales with a wine merchant, as a sommelier and prior to that editor of a food and drinks magazine.

Many of our wines have been listed in top establishments including Michelin restaurants too. To name a few, Ottolenghi Restaurants, Kol Restaurant, Brat, Elliott's, Hide, Noble Rot, amongst others

Basket Press Wines is a result of carefully picking outstanding winemakers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Slovenia, Hungary and Georgia. This group of winemakers dared to go back to the traditional winemaking methods, that is farm organically and allow the wines to follow their natural evolution in their cellars. Amongst them are true pioneers, who have set the way for the younger growers in their region to believe in themselves and think beyond the dogmatic approaches. ​
